Despite the recent announcement of Final Fantasy XIII headed to the Xbox 360, Kitase has apparently said to Kotaku that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is still a Playstation 3 exclusive. He also mentioned that there are "no plans" to include motion controls.
Kitase was asked through Kotaku's Live Blogging feature.
Question: Motion controls?
Kitase: "No, we have no plans."
Question: "Will FF Versus 13 be multi plat?"
Hashimoto: No.
Question: FFXIII uses a properitary engine. Correct me if I'm wrong, that's the last time, it will be used.
Hashimoto: "We haven't made any changes about that."
In addition, Kitase was asked a few more questions.
- Crystal Tools is a PC based engine, so the game will be developed on a PC then ported to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
- The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will have the same content, but of course the Xbox 360 will have DVD(s) and the PS3 version will have a Blu-Ray. He wouldn't comment on the number of discs the Xbox 360 version will take up.
- Final Fantasy XIII will first be released in Japan and then development / translation will start on the English version. Then development will start on the Xbox 360 version.
