In the first trailer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII a character shown who appears to be the main character. This character seems to have the ability to telekinetically, or otherwise, control a set of weapons. These weapons spiral round him defending incoming attacks until he summons them and chooses one specifically.
The low quality of the trailer makes it hard to see what weapons he has in his arsenal However, an early screenshot although only medium quality itself has helped identify what these weapons are. While we are not 100% sure that these weapons are what we say they are so we are just speculating from what we can see. Some of the weapons have been used in the trailer so the thumbnail will link to another screenshot of them in use where available.

This is the Prince's weapon of choice in the trailer. It has been nicknamed the "Engine Sword" because of the noise which it makes, which resembles a motorcycle engine, when he pulls it out. It is used in the CLOUD DVD Trailer, however it's still unclear why it actually makes a noise like an engine. This sword appears to be a mixture between the Pike and the Engine Sword. It is not used in the official E3 trailer, but it is in the extended trailer. It also seems as though this sword has a very similar design, and a small blue vial or something (Part of a crystal?) which also allows the user to teleport with this weapon too. It is hard to see from the low quality screenshot what exactly this weapon is. It looks slightly like the bladed rocket launcher which Lady uses in Devil May Cry 3, and could easily be a similar weapon. Until we get a better screenshot it's hard to say just yet. |

This sword looks a little like the "Engine Sword" the Prince uses in the trailer, but has a slightly different shape and looks to be heavier and slow. |

This weapon is not used in any trailer as far as we know. It's only appearance is when The Prince shows all his weapons. It's very small and the quality of the trailer and screenshots are not good enough to tell exactly what it is yet, but it has been suggested it would be a mace-like weapon. |
