In the latest issue of Famitsu, Director Tetsuya Nomura, and co-director Hajima Tabata, and Total Visual Director Takeshi Nozue shed light on the recently announced, Final Fantasy XV.

The development team utilizes the Microsoft DirectX11 software in a high-setting PC environment to operate Final Fantasy XV. Since both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One support the software, the game will be released on both consoles. Although the odds of the game porting to Wii U is nil, it can work PCs. However, this has yet to be officially confirmed as it is currently undecided by Square-Enix.

Again, Final Fantasy XV requires a high-end PC to run it and because of this the development team is measuring the potential “demand” from PC users.

Square-Enix also considers incorporating the PlayStation Vita, tablets, and smartphones to the gameplay of Final Fantasy XV. The game features that these devices may hold are unknown at this point.

Square-Enix’s creative decision to make Final Fantasy XV an Action RPG and abandon the trademark turn-base battle system indicates the company new direction for gaming. Producer Shinji Hashimoto wishes that fans will appreciate the shift in combat gameplay and will be asked for feedback soon. In addition, the player will be able to let Noctis climb onto monsters (as in the E3 Gameplay Trailer) as well as switch between three characters in real time. But, if Noctis gets slain, then it’s game over.

Hashimoto says that more information on the game will be announced soon! So, stay tuned.
But what worries me, is that someday i really want to job in the game industy, but does all engines work in a diffrent way? or are the basics of every engine the same?
I know that almost all engines uses c++ for coding (udk uses UnrealScript), but does the basic level design work in a same way?

The interviews just keep on coming! Nomura's talked once more, this time about some rather interesting details about why he's chosen the art style he did and what we might expect from it. His commentary ranges from what we'll see in the game's architecture and setting to thoughts on hair and who he idolizes as an artist. It's all very enlightening and contains a few more precious morsels of novel information.

NBC News: Some say that the "Final Fantasy" games are getting too modern for a game with "fantasy" in its name — but of course, tech and magic have always been at odds in the series. How do you see it?

Tetsuya Nomura: I don't like the extreme cases of tech or magic. If I choose, I choose a modern setting — but that's not a good setting for a game. So if you look at "FFXV," it starts in a very modern world similar to Shinjuku (in downtown Tokyo), but when the story starts, you go to the medieval world — but the weapons they are using are high tech-weapons; that kind of combo is what I like.

In all "FF" titles in the past, there were no titles in extreme high or low fantasy, they always had a mixture. There was some weight on one side or the other, but it was always mixed. Personally, when I play games, I cannot be emotionally involved if the game starts in an imaginary fantasy world — so I want to start in the modern world and branch out into the fantasy.

NBC News: Does character design have a big effect on gameplay, or is it the other way around? Do level designers say "We need an ice monster" and you comply, or can you also say "This character I've made should definitely use a spear"?

Tetsuya Nomura: When I design the "silhouette" (i.e. general outline) I make suggestions such as "this character should carry something long on his back." Before, I used to design weapons as well, but now I only design characters. It was until "FFX" that I was doing weapons — if you remember the Buster Sword and Gunsword, those were suggested back to the developer teams and they used them in gameplay.

It was until "FF8" that I designed monsters. If you look at the trailer for "FFXV," the behemoth and giants were originally designed for "FF7" and "FF8" by me; they were redesigned for "XV."

NBC News: Where does character inspiration come from? Modern fashion, history books or does it just spring into your head?

Tetsuya Nomura: It's not like I'm always thinking about character design. When I receive orders, I start imagining things. The image of that character, the "silhouette," comes into my mind, and from that I start thinking of details. In the past I would probably flip through the pages of fashion magazines, now I look through the Web pages of my favorite brands.

NBC News: On that note, and this might sound a little silly, but hair has always appeared to be a big part of your character design. Has that become more important as technology enables it?

Tetsuya Nomura: If you look at the real world, you don't see too many extreme hairstyles. That's why characters in games should have unique hairstyles. It's just one way to showcase each character's personality. We do have to deform some realistic hairstyles to more game-appropriate styles.

Sometimes I wish we had the easiness Western FPS (first-person shooters) have, to make everyone bald. We're a company that's known for unique hairstyles, but in a way we're running out of ideas.

NBC News: Are there any artists or games in particular that have inspired you or that fans should check out?

Tetsuya Nomura: The reason I joined Square was because I loved Amano-san's art (Yoshitaka Amano, who has done "FF" logos and design since the beginning). When I was in high school, my art teacher told me about Amano-san. I really only joined because of him; I wasn't interested in the gaming world at all. In a way, it was him who hired me, and whom I respect the most.

I'm sure that if any of you have looked in the comments sections on the new trailers for Final Fantasy XV, you've noticed all of the misdirected hate and confusion surrounding the game. I, like many of you, have been following the game for years and I decided it was time to do some crowd control. I threw together a quick video explaining some of the details about Versus XIII/XV yesterday, so if you happen to stumble across someone on the internet who is angry about XV's new direction, or is just flat out confused by it, this video might be of some assistance:

Everything You Need to Know About Final Fantasy XV: Part 1 - YouTube

Everything You Need to Know About Final Fantasy XV: Part 1 - YouTube

<param name=''movie'' value="http://www.youtube.com/v/wUwBg2k7mY0&ap=%2526fmt%3D18&fs=1">

To be clear, I make a few jokes at the expense of Versus XIII/XV (for instance, I say that Noctis looks like 'an otaku looser'), but I did that so as to keep anyone who felt alienated by the game's new direction enthused throughout the video. I'm a massive fan of Versus XIII, and honestly, the only thing that could have made me more thrilled than to hear it was becoming Final Fantasy XV would have been if they said it was coming out tomorrow.

However, that being said, this video was a rush job. I wanted to make it quickly so that it could be spread around and hopefully put a stop to some of the confusion. And as with any rush job, it's probably chock full of errors. So I call upon you, the collective Final Fantasy Versus XIII fans, to help me to fix any of the mistakes that I overlooked in this video.

In addition, I plan to do a few more videos in the same style on Versus XIII/XV, so any help you can provide in making those will be greatly appreciated.

This image contains all of the logos of the games itself. Each image had a prominent circular object (Lightning's Sword and the pendant from XIII-2 and XIII, respectively; the two hands from Type-0; the circle also in the FNC logo; and the circle behind the face in Versus), so I took that as a center. I also ordered them in announcement (FNC > Versus > XIII > Type-0 > XIII-2). It was a very simple thing to do: make layers and add them together....which, as the title implies, looks awfully similar to this logo.

Notice how the artwork lines up perfectly. Also notice how the dragon spiraling down from Etro and facing left is actually looking at who I believe is Fang.

Also, I want to call your attention to the character's eyes.

The dragon (I'm assuming Bahamut) from the Versus logo points to Type-0's (assuming) Machina, who point's to Caius' sword (assuming Chaos), who points to Etro. Caius points directly to Etro, and (also assuming) Rem's head position is also in the same line of sight.

If we follow directly downward from Etro's eyes, it apparently overlooks what was speculated to be Stella over in this forum post: http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/forums/...ad.php?t=16033

The one question is what significance does Stella have in the storyline for Versus.

Well, what do you think?

Image: http://zoknowsgaming.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/final-fantasy-xv-logo.jpg

I've had this topic on my mind for a long time. For every Final Fantasy title, the logo has had some connection to the story, usually depicting a major character, a major story element or both at once. With this in mind, what does the XV logo tell us? It remains unchanged from the game's initial reveal as Versus XIII, and Nomura assures us that the game's story remains as it was originally intended.

So, with that in mind, I've picked this apart and come up with my own conclusions.

Who is that woman?

Firstly, who is the woman in the logo? It's an interesting question, and many people seem to think that she is the goddess Etro, a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis core mythology and confirmed to be at least a part of XV's story through the image Noctis and Stella discuss.

If you're asking me, that doesn't look much like what the Amano art in the logo is representing. The two depictions are like night and day if the logo indeed is a picture of Etro. That's not to say it's impossible that it's her, but I find another option much more likely, if a bit too obvious.

I think the woman in the logo is Stella. With Amano art, it can be difficult to tell one person from another an it's often so stylized that in-game features that make characters easily recognizable are lost in translation. However, the long hair seems to fit just fine, and there is a more compelling piece of evidence. The figure seems to have a halo at her back, a shining light or power, and I think that after you factor in Amano stylization it looks a lot like this:

Stella's halo-like glyph and the glyph in the art are the most compelling evidence I can find for discerning who is specifically depicted in the logo. That and the fact that Stella appears to be one of two women in the entire XV world.

What's going on in the logo?

This seems a lot harder to make any concrete assertions about. From here, I will be going on the very likely incorrect assumption that the woman in the trailer is Stella, so bear with me. There are a few interesting tidbits you may not have noticed. A little bit of hard looking on the logo before it was even XV reveals two very familiar looking figures.

It looks as though, at Stella's shoulder and at her feet, are the two summons Leviathan and Bahamut. I wasn't sure what to think of this when I initially noticed it, but with the new trailer things seem a bit more clear and a lot more interesting. The two figures are wrapped around Stella- perhaps even originating from her.

During Niflheim's attack on Lucis, we see the massive summon Leviathan tearing apart Noctis' home and the entire city attached to it. It acts as something of a superweapon, demolishing everything there is. We know that Stella has magical abilities much like Noctis, so if Leviathan indeed originates from her as the logo seems to suggest the implications are many.

Could Stella be attacking Lucis on such a massive scale? Are her abilities being used as a weapon of war? If it is her, what does her dialogue to Noctis at the beginning of the reveal trailer mean? How does she feel about causing so much mayhem and destruction?

It should also be noted that in the logo, Stella is sleeping, a theme we know will be very prevalent in XV. What exactly this means is mysterious, but if Stella is tied into one of the core themes of Versus it's safe to say the story has huge plans for her.

I think that's enough supposition, speculation and assumption from me for one day. I hope you've enjoyed my wild leaps of logic if nothing else, and that I've given you something to think about. Of course all of this might be completely untrue, but hopefully I've opened some discussion.

Most of all, I want to hear your own thoughts. What does the logo mean to your eyes? How do you think it will tie into the story? Do you have your own theories for what it means to Final Fantasy XV? Please, by all means, share them with us.

The hits just keep on coming as a Famitsu interview with Nomura has revealed a few more interesting tidbits for us to sink our teeth into. While he has yet to do an in-depth interview as is his custom, he is giving us some surprising things to think about.

The fifteenth coming is not part of the game's story. It was more of a joke specifically for the trailer and its name change reveal. Oh Nomura, you dirty tease.

Versus may be a series. That's right, Nomura said that the line at the end of the trailer- "A world of the VERSUS epic"- was specifically meant to hint at the possibility of turning XV into a series. Don't worry though, Nomura assures us that despite the fact that XV will seem like a single part of an epic poem, it will have its own climax. There will simply be room for more stories to be told.

Nomura is aware that large console developments like this might require a persistent element to keep people interested. To this end, they're thinking about long-term online features that offer more beyond the short-term single-player experience. Nothing concrete yet, Nomura says he wants to weigh possibilities to see what fits.

Square Enix is interested in expanding Final Fantasy experience to the Vita and other mobile devices. We're told they'll be brand new Final Fantasy experiences and not the same old stuff.

The silence on XV is over. Expect to hear more about it from now on, especially at big events like the Tokyo Game Show.

They're looking into making the Luminous engine XV's main engine.

The warm spring has come and our long wait is finally over. For all of you who have been suffering through the agonizing wait, for all of you who were excited at the prospect, Versus XIII has finally showed itself once more. As promised, Tetsuya Nomura appeared at E3 in the form of a video message. There, he announced that we would receive more information in the coming days- but in the meantime, perhaps we could enjoy the latest trailer for Versus.

Well, perhaps we shouldn't call it that anymore. You see, Final Fantasy Versus XIII is a thing of the past- its proper name is now Final Fantasy XV. I'll let the trailer speak for itself.

As a Final Fantasy XIII site, we have been proud to bring you all the latest on Fabula Nova Crystallis. However, since Square Enix have realised that the XIII brand is fucking toxic as shit, and not being willing to cut Ito some slack, they have decided to rename Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV. As such, we will no longer be covering Final Fantasy XV.

Sorry not sorry
