Because Deadpool was a huge hit as a generic mercenary/thinly-veiled Deathstroke knock-off. When he got a personality people only bought the comics to burn them, presumably.

Liefield has been given Hawkman and, I believe, at least Deathstroke too. Why do they keep employing him?

I assume Batman is changing his life mission accordingly from 'preventing others from knowing the pain he feels' to 'beat these guys, then go home'.

Adding to the list of why the DCnU sucks: obsession with massive conspiracies. Batman no longer created by random act of violence, instead his parents were bumped off for being thorn in conspiracy side. Dick's, sorry, Richard's parents were the acrobats who knew too much. THIS IS NOT BATMAN, BATMAN IS ABOUT CRIME.
