What is the purest DIY Horn Design
Hello everybody,
this is my first post on this forum, though I have been active on another forum.
I have just finished building the Fostex FE166 BLH, about 10 days old now, and have had an interesting and very educational time (special thanks to Scott for all the advice).As a prodigal son returning to the world of audiophilia and a newbie in terms of actualy finally building something (I have a box of hi-fi world supplements from the 90's in the loft, with projects I never got round to building) and more importantly, being surprised with the results, I would like to hear the views from the more experienced of what they would consider a better BLH design than the Fostex, as from what I've learned this design is a bit of a hybrid.I chose the Fostex partly due to stuff I read on the web and the added bonus that I would only have to buy 2 drivers, so if it went wrong, I hadn't forked out loads o'brass (an important consideration considering my locatio ((Yorkshire)) and our Lass ( who when it comes to me forking out money resembles a Rotvieller chewing a wasp).I think it would help others like me that are trying to wade through all the designs available out there.PS I still want a bit more bass output than the FE166, possibly an 8 inch driver and definately a Fostex cos I can afford them.
