And honestly, who cares? FFXIII is old news. I'm sure there are some 360 only owners in Japan, but it really doesn't matter. Most of them probably broke down and bought or borrowed a PS3 to play it. Or by now, they just don't give a fuck because it's been seven months since the Japanese release.

They wouldn't do it for the game, though. They'd do it in an attempt to build an additional userbase for, say, Versus going multi. Or to sway Microsoft on their cockblocking of FFXIV on 360. Or to convince Disney that it's a swell idea for when the next major KH game rocks around.

Or maybe they're just being completely uncharacteristic and sharing the love?

I don't like to be a naysayer but yeah, that's completely uncharacteristic, unless there's some microsoft monies involved.
