The Coliseum is on the edge of the Void Beyond, in what is essentially a bubble of timelessness. The souls of dead heroes and tyrants are supposedly given form there, more often than not being copy bodies and souls. As the Arbiter of Time points out, the beings summoned forth in the coliseum are little more than imitations when it comes to consciousness but are all-to-accurate combatively speaking.
Think of it like a little bar at the end of the Universe where the most convincing cosplayers of all time come to punch each other.
Aaaand I'm pretty sure the Arbiter of Time explains this briefly when you go to the Coliseum during the story of the game.
I seriously hope that we're not getting another RAV or COM. Between Twilight Odin, Amodar and Lightning, we've already got too many of them. Then again, unless Jihl is a MED, if she's not one of those two I won't be using her.
I can't shake the feeling that this is something we should have seen in XIII, but even if that's a bit shady it doesn't diminish the opportunity to get a whack at it now. My only regret is that there will be no context within the story, no actual impact at all. Ah well. Who wants to take bets on whether or not Yaag is going to show up alongside her?
Oooh, Hope is a difficult choice. On the one hand, epic Medic who I am sure would get all the abilities. On the other, he was a badass Ravager and his sky-high Magic stat means as a Synergist his buffs would last quite a bit longer than most of the other Synergist types. If we were lucky, he would also have access to Haste which would make him invaluable to me.
...And is anyone else hoping (TROLOLOL) that if the characters from 13 HAVE to be monster crystals that they will eventually give you the ability to fight and receive crystals for multiple roles? So a Lightning crystal for both Commando and Medic in addition to her current Ravager. That would make it feel almost like having three proper people on your team.
Wow. This is such a treat. I did not expect this. I always considered her the female Sephiroth. Her actual part in the first game was very disappointing. At least we get to see more of her in DLC. YAY! She could be a good rav or com.

Did no one even read the basic lore of the Coliseum? Wherever it is, or whatever it is it's a place between time (like Valhalla) and lost spirits come there to do battle or some shit like that I don't know READ IT YOURSELVES OR SOMETHING.
