I don't see why Lightning is assumed to be the romantic interest for Snow. He seems to be in his late teens and doesn't really think ahead, while she's very serious and focused and definitely at least a couple years into her 20s; the difference in maturity would be pretty huge.
Yah, sorry for over reacting. Didn't mean to tell you how to speculate. I just think that speculation should be based about 60% on solid facts.
Yeah well, from the gestures I saw and the treatment was more like Rinoa. But I don't see her much as Aerith at all, I don't know. Her smile seemed more like Yuna's... Perhaps it was me, or whatever.
I personally favour FF VIII over all the others, particulary because it was my first and therefore it defined final fantasy for me. Rinoa, as a contrast to Squall, worked great in developing Squall as a character. That's the only reason why I could say I liked her as a game character.
Stella, from what I've managed to get a hold of from the translations, doesn't act as hyperactive and naive as Rinoa. She appears far more mature, and altough visibly Extrovert, she is well mannered.
But I agree with Stella (user), the similarity is certaintly there. From older trailers Stella we know that she will inevetably fight Noctis, and doing this while showing good vibes toward Noctis, shows determination and loyalty, another classical Rinoa feature.
Let's hope for more maturity, less whining and more complexeties. "RinHOEa"

The only thing I liked about Rinoa (other than her hair) is the way she treated her dad.... you know with her back to him and her hand "flipping" him off
But nah... Stella seems much cooler - at least in the trailer she DOES come face to face with my darling prince as opposed to act like the dame in distress.

...um yeah, she kinda acts like Rinoa but i think she's way better because not all girly-ish girls uses a sword as a weapon of choice.... And i like the idea of her pretending to be all nice when she's really out to kill our tragic hero.
..Hmm and stella excels more in the sexiness department. I still hope she'll end up with noctis, though, just don't give the players a hard time like what rinoa did.

How is that hard to believe? When people are placed under certain situations, they change to tailor to the issue. In a fancy party, Stella will be happy sappy Rinoa and when her life is threatened, she's a hardened bitch. Sounds perfectly normal to me.
Although Stella's appearance somewhat remind of Aerith, I don't think they share similar personalities. And about Rinoa being the same as Stella for me its also a big "NO". Rinoa a bit more childish than Stella. Stella for me is an intelligent and more mature than Rinoa.
i don't think they were talking about stella's looks or personality when they said that she'll be more like rinoa than aerith. from what i remember, if i'm not mistaken, it was her first meeting with noctis that will be more like rinoa's and squall's and not aerith's and cloud's.

But i think Lightning is like, the totally different female ff chracter than others. I like her
