If it was a little one, then it was probably a Members points code, which you enter on the Japanese SEM site. After gathering enough points, you can redeem them for pointless Square Enix branded merchandise. Useless unless you reside in Japan. I know there was a slightly larger square one, if that had a code on it (don't remember, don't especially care), then it was to enter a draw or some rubbish for a pair of Square Enix Music branded headphones. Again, useless if you live outside of Japan.

No, you don't get to do that. I don't care how right you are, that's not your job.

actually not really. The collectors edition(of the game) came with additional disc containing some bonus soundtrack pieces. Not all of them. I dont get why couldnt they put whole damn OST istead of stupid 10 tracks. I dont care about package. It could be just normal DVD case, so it wouldnt effect price much.

Of course, everyone knows that a single disc with 10 tracks costs about the same to produce as 4 discs with 85 tracks.

And you were also asking them to put the collector's edition of the OST in the Collector's Edition of the game. The Collector's Edition OST contains a visual book, the Episode Zero - Promise audio "drama", and the actual OST in a stylish plastic slip-case package. All of that in a stylish solid white box. It was released at the price of about €40.

The Collector's Edition of the game included a hardcover artbook, 3 collectible art prints, a CD with a selection of 10 tracks from the OST, and some useless decal. All of this in a cute little carton box. Went into retail for €70.

You're asking for an over €100 package.

In the case where you just wished for the ost without the added collector's edition bonuses that came with the collector's edition of it, then the regular OST was priced at roughly €25.

Now since there is already a music disc included with the Collector's edition of the game, we're going to remove it from the price. (25÷4) x3 = 18.75.

You're then asking them to sell a value of ≈€90 for €70.

Indeed it's easier to just complain about how S-E is greedy and wants all your money instead of doing the simple maths yourself.

if You read what I typed you would know I didnt

I will cut the crap and clarify. Most of special/limited game editions comes with OST on them. Now FF13 Collectors edition didnt have that, which is what I meant, instead you had this extra bonus disc with 10 tracks, in paper sleeves.
Now it would be nice of SE to include whole OST even in cheaper package (no fancy case or anything) so that you could enjoy the music only.
It wouldnt be anything extrodinary seeing as games like Bioshock, Risen, MedievalII and plenty of other titles had this(which is why I dont see why they should charge you extra 25£ for it, maybe slightly less seeing as you already spending hell lot on just a game)

Yeah, Bioshock, Risen, Medieval II, StarCraft II and plenty of other games share this one thing in common: their included OSTs fit on a single frickin' disc.

You clearly don't get the point at all here.

yeah, because fitting it on 3-4 CD's surely can cost 25£.
bullshit. If they want it to they could of easily include the damn soundtrack with collectors edition.
Cost of manufacturing plain CD/DVD is so cheap its not any concern.

Of course, the ONLY cost attached to developing a 85 tracks OST comes from the printing disc process.

Just some thoughts from a neutral stand point on your debate.

I don't disagree with you Toreador, I also have purchased several of the other CE's you mentioned. All of which had a single OST included on them. The latest being SC2 which had an amazing CE release (although I think they were really trying to make up for the 12 year wait) <- that and Blizzard corp are marketing God's. It would've been nice if they had released a more thorough OST with the LE FFXIII game release; even if it didn't have say 85 tracks but rather 30-40 on a single disc. However Hynad makes a solid point that if they had done that it would have without a doubt raised the LE price even if only by $10-20.00 ... (not because it would have costed them a significant amount to do it, but rather because they simply would have regardless.)

As CE games go I do have to agree that the LE of FFXIII looked kind of cheaply put together compared to many other recent releases that have come out in the same price range. No one can deny that SE does have a major fan base that places considerable attention into the FF series, and no one can deny that they on occasion take advantage of that and soak that fan base for as much as they can. That being said, FFXIII is an amazing game but I do kind of feel they could've been a little kinder to the die hard consumer who purchased the LE. I would have loved a more thorough art book that wasn't 6x8 and a couple of discount print outs with a sticker for added detail; even if this wuold have raised the price into the $99 market.

We also won't go into mentioning that although Hynad didn't specifically point this out; if they had released a more thorough OST with the LE it would have negated the market value or rather simple point of releasing a CE OST later on. Another concluding factor in why they would have raised the LE game price early on had they gone in that direction.

I skipped out on the LE because after reviewing it I was not at all impressed. However on the other hand between the regular game, the CE hardcover manual, and the CE OST releases, I find myself quite satisfied. The only thing I think they could produce in the future for this series that would be of significant value would be a hardcover "the art of FFXIII" including all of the crystal saga, but we'll see after the other game is released.

When all is said and done you both make valid points but put those points together and you get the ultimate conclusion. More product = less marketing opportunity for the future = more money. In an ideal society with the consumer in mind it would be lovely to get more product while negating the latter two consequences, but that's not going to happen; for when it comes to video games it is a seller's market.
