I was wondering if there're translations of the content of the crystarium. I can pretty much make out some Hiragana and Katakana but Kanji is just a big question mark for me. I'm kind of having a hard time figuring out if it's a new skill or something. ) please enlighten me.
Just wanted to take a minute to say how immensely grateful I am for all the work you guys are doing on this project. I don't know much Japanese, I just started learning some basics a few days ago and am fairly proficient in Hiragana & Katakana, in addition to some (very) basic grammar. I felt I might as well go ahead and import instead of torturing myself for another 3 months and risk spoiling things.
You are doing a huge favor to the entire gaming community with this walkthrough, and my own enjoyment will also skyrocket since I don't have to sit and struggle with translating menus.
Not sure where else to ask (we could probably use a dedicated thread for this), but has anyone figured out how the specific commands for each attack for Odin's driving mode? I get really crappy attacks with auto-select (circle) sometimes in driving mode . I know triangle is to end the driving mode / summon duration with the final attack, but nothing else.
Kimitsu, please start threads for Chapter 9 and onwards i just started 9 and seeing as there is no existing thread / discussion on it i'm gonna try and take as much notes as i can from here on to post about.
PS: I'm sorry but i didn't catch the full name of chapter 9, i'm playing on a CRT tv and text looks very fuzzy on it.. 'Skyfleet' is the only word i caught but i think it should suffice.

if you load from an area in the chapter you're at. you'll see the chapter title at the top. It does a summary load like Xenosaga's, so i'm familiar with it. It gives you a summary of what last happened and the chapter and title you're in.

I've asked several times for people to tell me the names of chapters beyond Chapter 8 but no one seems to want to. I'll start a thread as soon as I know what it's called.

Just list them as Chapter #s till someone comes along and confirms the name? You can edit thread titles right? I'll see if i can look at the name again from loading a game - when i can drag myself away from my game lust.

Yeah I was thinking about doing that. I'll do threads up to 13.
I know 2 more Chapters, but I can't confirm where they are placed (they are definitely after near the end of the game). Taejin's Tower (or is it Gaejin's Tower?) and Eden, but there might be a or two location just before Eden.
By any chance you guys doing a translation of the items in the shops and also like a weapon lvling guide or something? i swear i have my first weapon for lightning to lvl 26 with a star but i dunno what to do next to keep lvling her weapon up to omega/ultima weapon.
I've seen the jpn site with the weapons maxed out there but it doesn't tell you HOW to get the items you need to keep progressing =/
A guide would be greatly appreciated. I would probably become borderline overpowered if i knew how to properly advance my weapons to the next tier. In chapter 9 and still using all stock weapons (level 1, 0 exp).
Sadly i think this is one part of the game that i will have to wait till the English version to fully explore, there's far too many items and too much info text on each item for someone to translate fully and make a guide out of. Honestly i wouldn't want to see anyone invest all the time in it unless they are reallllly bored.
Wasn't sure where to post this, but i have a general mechanics question. I'm in chapter 4 right now and Lightning has what seem to be elemental melee attacks; what affects the damage of these attacks? Attack power, magic power, both?
Can someone create a list of all the official names of the areas in the game... like when the screen shows the official names of the areas. I'm working on a game rip and need those names to label songs.
Does anyone have a translation of the ITEM BUY menu in the save points. BEcause i can recognize the sections to buy regular items, and weapons. But what the heck are the other sections>

I'm pretty sure the names of the stores aren't descriptive of what they sell, they're just...store names.
As for what they sell (as of Chapter 7..not sure if more get added later):
Useable Items
Weapons
Accessories
